Experience
12 Years
Professional Qualifications
Mr. Sen has 12 years of experience in the energy industry and has
worked in a wide variety of roles in E&P Technology. His initial
training was in the geosciences and he holds degrees in geophysics
from the Indian Institute of Technology and the University of Texas.
After working in the oil industry in R&D and applied technology for
several years, he returned to academia to cross-train in petroleum
engineering, and received a degree in Chemical Engineering
(Petroleum Engineering specialization) from the University of
Calgary. Following a brief return to a position in reservoir
geophysics, he accepted a research award in tight-gas engineering
from the Alberta Ingenuity Fund in 2009. His recent technical
interests include integration of geoscience and reservoir
engineering, hydraulic frac design, and monitoring, reservoir
simulation, geomechanics and 4D monitoring of producing fields.
Education and Professional Associations
Mr. Sen holds a
M.Sc. (Indian Institute of Technology) and Ph.D (University of
Texas) in Geophysics and a M.Sc. (University of Calgary) in Chemical
Engineering.
He was awarded a Province of Alberta – Queen Elizabeth II
Scholarship and the Alberta Ingenuity Studentship while attending
University of Calgary.
He is an active member of the SPE, SEG and CWLS. He has been active
in committee activities of the SEG for the last ten years.
